Visiting conditions
Visiting conditions at the monument remain unchanged; the entire tour route remains open (unless otherwise specified by a prefectural order).
In the event of extreme heat, guided tours may be cancelled.
There are no drinking fountains along the 1km600 of ramparts; please ensure you take the necessary precautions before starting the tour. (The drinking fountain is located in the main courtyard of the main building, after your visit to the visitor centre).

- The towers offer a naturally cooler refuge.
- Make the most of the towers to take short breaks whilst exploring the rampart walk.
- It’s best to complete the full tour of the ramparts outside the hottest part of the day, for example in the morning. Our opening hours.
- Drink water regularly, cover your head and remember to use sun protection. Check the health authorities’ recommendations.
