Presentation
Amaury d'Algues was knighted by Saint Louis during the 7th Crusade in 1248. One of his descendants, who was behind the creation of the Compagnie du Chevalier d'Algues in 2012, will tell you all about the life of this local figure.
A history buff, surrounded by a team of young history students, they will share their passion and knowledge of the Middle Ages with you.
The programme
Around the camp set up in the main courtyard, you'll be able to take part in a number of events:
- Tableware and spices: Presentation of tableware, protocol and cooking around a spice chest.
- Medicine: Presentation of a chest of medicinal herbs and medical equipment.
- Medieval pottery: Over 35 pieces of pottery from the 12th and 13th centuries (handmade, wood-fired).
- Games: In a friendly atmosphere, the public can take part in various games such as El Mundo. A game straight out of the book of games of Alfonso X (1283), but also Checkers, Jaquet, etc...
- Visit: Visit the Constance Tower every hour.
