the artists
Renaud Capuçon , the internationally renowned violinist born in Chambéry on 27 January 1976, began his musical training at the age of 4. At the age of 17, he graduated from the Conservatoire with a first prize in chamber music and a first prize in violin.
In the years that followed, he took part in a number of international competitions and joined the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra under Claudio Abbado. At the same time, he embarked on a solo career, playing with a number of colleagues, including his brother Gautier Capuçon.
The awards continue to come thick and fast. In 1995, he was awarded the prize of theBerlin Academy of Arts. In 2000, he was named New Talent of the Year at the Victoires de la musique classique awards. Finally, in 2005, he was awarded the title of Instrumental Soloist of the Year.
Full of enthusiasm, the following year he created a chamber music festival: Les rencontres artistiques de Bel-Air. He went on to record violin concertos by Schuman and Mendelssohn, conducted by Daniel Harding.
In 2013, he founded the Festival de Pâques d'Aix-en-Provence, of which he is artistic director. He takes part in the Advent Concerts in Villars-sur-Glâne. Since 2016, he has also been artistic director of the Sommets Musicaux de Gstaad Festival (Switzerland).
In May 2021, he was appointed the new principal conductor of the Orchestre de chambre de Lausanne.
In October 2021, he announced that he had signed a partnership with audiovisual content producer Banijay to support new classical music talent.
With the elegance and finesse that distinguish him, Renaud Capuçon is considered to be one of the five greatest violinists on the planet!
Guillaume Bellom has had one of the most atypical careers of his generation, studying the violin alongside the piano, and it was through contact with leading musical figures such as Nicholas Angelich and Hortense Cartier-Bresson that he fully developed his career as a pianist.
